Colombia Earthquake Relief: How You Can Help

Following the powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake that struck western Colombia on Monday, August 10, relief efforts are underway to support those affected. 

WAYS TO CONTRIBUTE:  

Supply Donation Drop-off at Government Center

Miami-based humanitarian organization Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) is mobilizing in response to the disaster. The City of Sunny Isles Beach will accept donations in the first-floor lobby of the Government Center, located at 18070 Collins Avenue, to support these relief efforts. Only the following items are being accepted until Tuesday, August 25.

Immediate Needs

Shelter Supplies

  • New tents
  • Tarps
  • New sleeping bags
  • Blankets

Hygiene Supplies

  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste
  • Bar soap
  • Shampoo
  • Deodorant

First Aid Kits

 

Please note, donations of food, water, pet supplies, baby supplies, clothing, or over-the-counter medication are currently not being accepted for this response.
