Utility undergrounding work began Tuesday, January 6, in the Golden Shores neighborhood. As crews convert overhead utilities to underground service, residents may experience brief, temporary power outages between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
The Intracoastal Police Athletic & Activities League (IPAL) is a unique two-city partnership proudly serving the teens of Sunny Isles Beach and the City of Aventura. Created from the vision of the late Aventura Commissioner Michael Stern, IPAL was founded with a simple but powerful mission: to provide meaningful leadership opportunities and accessible athletic programs that empower our community’s youth.
Through a strong collaboration between the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department and the Aventura Police Department — with the full support of both city commissions — IPAL creates a welcoming, shared space where police officers, community leaders, and teens can connect.
Our goal is to engage young people in positive, structured environments that foster personal growth, mentorship, and active community involvement.
IPAL proudly serves teens ages 13–17 in Sunny Isles Beach and Aventura.
Beginning March 3, teens ages 13–17 from Sunny Isles Beach and Aventura are invited to participate in:
Basketball League – Mondays & Wednesdays
Volleyball League – Tuesdays & Thursdays
Boxing Program – Mondays & Wednesdays
Teen Leadership Club – Every other Thursday
