Town Hall Meeting: Financial Aid, Scholarships, FAFSA and College
Next date: Wednesday, May 13, 2026 | 06:00 PM
Join us, Commissioner Jeniffer Viscarra, and guest speaker Veritza Kostovski, Director of the TRIO Educational Opportunity Center, for a Town Hall Meeting on Financial Aid, Scholarships, and FAFSA.
This session provides a clear overview of how to pay for education after high school, including college, technical and vocational programs, and registered apprenticeships that allow you to work while you earn. It is designed for high school seniors and adults planning to return to school or who want to change careers.
Topics include how to complete the FAFSA, the types of financial aid available (grants, scholarships, work-study, and loans), and how to find and apply for scholarships. The session also explains how registered apprenticeships work, including earning wages while gaining training and industry-recognized credentials.
Free event parking is available in the Gateway Park Garage, 151 Sunny Isles Blvd.
One or more Commissioners may be in attendance.
