Protecting Your Tax Dollars and Leading with Transparency

On  April 17, 2025, the Sunny Isles Beach City Commission discussed a proposed resolution supporting Governor Ron DeSantis’ Executive Order No. 25-44 and the creation of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). This statewide initiative aims to identify unnecessary government spending and promote the responsible use of taxpayer resources.

As a city, we’ve already been putting into practice many of these initiatives.

Here in Sunny Isles Beach, your Commission has already taken decisive steps to improve operational efficiency—from conducting our own financial audits to reviewing expenditures. We will continue to align ourselves with the state’s initiative while allowing us to continue leading with transparency and accountability.

Importantly, this discussion will also help shape the conversation as we enter the upcoming budget planning process. It provides a framework for the City Commission and staff to engage in meaningful dialogue about fiscal responsibility, priorities, and

performance. By embracing both the state audit and our own evaluations, we are doubling down on our commitment to use every dollar wisely.

As your Mayor, I want to make it clear: I am personally committed to ensuring your money is treated with exceptional care. Each tax dollar represents your trust in our city government, and I will continue working to make sure that trust is honored through responsible, transparent decisions.

Your voice matters in this process. I value your input, and I encourage you to stay involved—whether by reaching out to me directly or any of the commissioners, participating in budget discussions, or sharing your ideas on how we can serve you better.

Together, we will continue building a city government that reflects the best of Sunny Isles Beach: smart, efficient, and responsive to the people it serves.
