The City of Sunny Isles Beach Joins Challenge for Water Conservation

This April, Mayor Larisa Svechin is encouraging residents to take part in the National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation by pledging to save water, reduce pollution, and make sustainable choices. By participating, residents contribute to the city’s sustainability efforts while also competing for prizes, including $3,000 toward home utility bills and water-saving products.

The challenge runs from April 1-30, and residents can take the pledge at www.mywaterpledge.com. Cities with the highest participation earn prizes, and one school in each winning city will receive 100 pairs of Zenni Remakes™ eyeglasses made from recycled plastics.

New this year, participants can use an AI-driven tool to see how their pledges impact the community and explore year-round sustainability projects through the MyVolunteer Water Project.

The National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation is organized by the Wyland Foundation, with support from the U.S. EPA WaterSense, The Toro Company, Zenni Optical, and the National League of Cities.
