Due to mandatory staff training, the Building Department will close at 12 p.m. on Friday, July 18. Regular business hours will resume on Monday, July 21.
The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is made up for qualified school-aged residents who are appointed by the City Commission. The Committee works closely with their local government on issues related to the youth in our community.
The goal of the YAC is to provide the City Commission with a youthful perspective on issues that affect the City of Sunny Isles Beach and its young residents. They will be provided with opportunities to volunteer and take initiative on projects that will help to promote a positive change in the community. The YAC will also be provided with positive experiences that nurture self-esteem, reinforce positive attitudes, and are meaningful to both the individual and the community.
Members of the YAC will serve a one-year term.
Meetings will be scheduled at least two weeks in advance and held on a mutually convenient date. Members must be willing to comply with procedures and requirements for all City Advisory Boards, including but not limited to, Sunshine and Public Records Law.
Committee members will work on a pro bono basis and should meet the following requirements:
