Vacant Property Registration

In an effort to prevent abandoned and neglected properties, the City of Sunny Isles Beach requires the owners of a vacant lot/building or vacant foreclosure unit to apply for registration and pay a one-time registration fee of $100.00.

The owner of a single-family residential lot or unit is required to pay an annual vacant lot/building or vacant foreclosure fee of $500.00 until the lot/building or unit is rehabilitated for active use and is not in foreclosure. The owner of a multifamily/commercial lot is required to pay an annual vacant lot or building fee of $5,000.00 until the lot is rehabilitated for active use. Once the property is registered, the owner/agent is responsible for updating the registration annually. 

Failure to register or providing false information to the enforcement officer will result in fines.
